Prime Minister Edward Natapei has lost his parliamentary seat over a paperwork error. After missing three consecutive sessions of parliament with out giving the speaker a note from his mum (OK, a note explaining why), according to Vanuatan law (that most ancient of judicial traditions) he must lose his seat. The prime minister was said to be rushing back to Vanuatu (to hell with icebergs) whilst furious debate has broke out on the island.
